What's New at Bartimaeus, Inc.

January 21, 2007

Bartimaeus, Inc. contributed and participated with HomeLife Communities Raleigh, NC in Helping ABC’s Extreme Makeover
Home Edition Team Build the Riggins Family’s New Home and
Remodeled the Community Center

ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition (EMHE) episode featuring the Riggins Family’s new home and the remodeled Building Together Ministries Community Center aired on January 21, 2007 @ 8/7c on ABC.  Bartimaeus, Inc. provided and installed the motorized shades in the remodeled Community Center and installed the blinds in the newly constructed home.

“The whole Extreme Makeover experience was very impressive. This was our first experience around a TV production and it was crazy to say the least. Add the schedule required completing the projects and you end up with wall to wall craziness. Maybe that's were they came up with the name "Extreme” remarked Dave Newman, Founder and President of Bartimaeus, Inc.  The Extreme Makeover Home Edition project had two parts to it.  The Riggins Family’s new house was the big part where Bartimaeus installed the blinds.  These blinds were donated by SelectBlinds.com an internet based retail window treatment company. The second part of the project was the Community Center across the street from the new house. Bartimaeus installed (13) Motorized Blackout shades in the Community Center’s Auditorium. These quiet low voltage (QED) shades were donated by Lutron Shading Solutions of Ashland, VA. The installation started at 8:30 AM and was completed by 10:30 AM.  From 10:30 AM till 3:30 PM Bartimaeus’ extreme motorized shade installers made final low voltage connections and tested the motors. When the Bartimaeus’ team left, the shades were operating and looking great.

“Bartimaeus, Inc. is proud to be part of this truly rewarding experience and to help this deserving family and community.  A big ‘thanks’ to HomeLife Communities Raleigh, NC for allowing Bartimaeus to be a part of ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition for the Riggins Family.  I was so impressed by the organization and effort of the HomeLife Communities team.  Karl Mull is a great person and a great motivator.  Darren Drevik did a wonderful job making us feel like we were a part of the HomeLife Communities team and that our contribution was important…and most of all, Don Mead, Division President HomeLife Communities Raleigh, is an "Extreme" leader” Newman remarked.

Bartimaeus, Inc. Receives Excellence In Construction Award

November 16, 2006

The Georgia Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced today that Bartimaeus Inc. has earned the association's Excellence In Construction (EIC) Award for the Roswell Street Baptist Church project located in Marietta, Georgia. Bartimaeus, Inc. representatives received the award at ABCs 2006 EIC Awards Celebration in the Finishes Category.

ABC Georgia has designed the EIC program to recognize excellent performance in the construction industry. In addition, the EIC program recognizes innovation, quality and vision of the winning contractors. The competition was open to all ABC Georgia members who have completed their projects by September 15, 2006. The winning projects were judged on a variety of project areas such as safety, personnel management, quality control, scheduling, and degree of difficulty in completing a project.

The Roswell Street Baptist Church (RSBC) window treatment project required a custom built product that was not available from any manufacturer. Bartimaeus, Inc. met the project challenges in providing RSBC with a window treatment that addressed there specific needs. Bartimaeus is very proud of this project because it demonstrates a willingness to think outside the box. Roswell Street Baptist Church now has a window treatment solution that, when not in use, is completely hidden or when needed, provides complete control of the natural light, all at the touch of a button.
